Freemelt receives an order for a Freemelt ONE from a Swedish university

21 Feb 2022

Nasdaq First North-listed Freemelt, whose pioneering solutions create new conditions for rapid growth and development in 3D printing, has received an order for a Freemelt ONE system from Linköping University. The system will be used for materials research and will be delivered during the first half of 2022. Freemelt ONE is an advanced system for Additive Manufacturing (AM).

Freemelt’s protected technology takes 3D printing to a new level and makes it possible to print products more cost-effectively and in new materials that were previously not possible to manufacture.

“The research activities at Linköping University on metal additive manufacturing initially focused mainly on characterization of AM materials and design for AM. However, during the recent years we have been working more also on material development for AM, a field we think is of great importance for the continued development of the AM field. Therefore, we are very glad to announce our acquisition of a Freemelt ONE machine that will further strengthen our capabilities in material and process development for AM.”, says Johan Moverare, Professor in Engineering Materials at Linköping University.

“The order from Linköping University to yet another university in Sweden consolidates our position in materials research equipment with 3D-printing on our home market. It shows that research on materials and applications focusing on Swedish industry is a good match for the technology and solutions in Freemelt ONE. Linköping University is a leader in applied materials research with its own high-class materials laboratory for testing and development. Freemelt’s office and production facility in Linköping is directly adjacent to Linköping University, which creates excellent opportunities for collaborations with the research group in Linköping” says Ulric Ljungblad, CEO of Freemelt.
