– Continues to strengthen its position in the important R&D market

Nasdaq First North-listed Freemelt – whose groundbreaking solutions enhance the possibility for rapid growth and development in 3D printing – has taken the fifth order in the North American research market in the last 12 months. This time it is a research team at the University of Michigan that is the client. The system will be delivered in 2022.

The University of Michigan will use the machine to develop new 3D printing techniques and to develop both existing and new materials. The interest in the research machine Freemelt ONE is increasing in the company’s main market, North America. So far this year, Freemelt has received four orders from U.S. universities, three of which are ranked among the world’s top 40 universities by Times Higher Education and the University of Michigan is ranked in the top 25.

“The order shows that Freemelt ONE is an important part of the rapidly growing segment for 3D printing in research and development. Thus, we continue to strengthen our leading position as a supplier in the important and substantial R&D market”, says Daniel Gidlund, CEO of Freemelt.

“We choose Freemelt ONE system because its open architecture will offer us full control of the printing process and allow us to fully explore the potential of E-PBF technology. We will use this system to perform research in process understanding and optimization, in-situ monitoring and control, and design of novel materials and structures”, says Wenda Tan, assistant professor in mechanical engineering.

Freemelt’s patent protected technology takes 3D printing to a new level and provides new conditions for printing products in a cost-effective way and to an even and high quality. Through its open-source solution, the conditions are created for strong growth that makes it possible to develop products into manufacturing markets.
